The Timing and Fulfillment of a Prophecy can be separated by Long Gaps

1 Peter 1:10-12 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care,

11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ (see Isaiah 53) and the glories that would follow (see Isaiah 11).

12 It was revealed to them (The Prophets) that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

Even though the OT prophets did not see clearly when their prophecies would be realized, they did foretell that Christ would suffer, and then be glorified. To date, there has been a 2000 year gap between the sufferings of the Messiah’s First Coming and the glories that will follow at His Second Coming. You and I are in the unique position of living in that interval of time between the suffering of Christ, which is in the past, and the glory of Christ, which is yet in the future.
