20 Key Prophecy Signs » Israel, Palestinians to Draft Peace Pact
Posted: JERUSALEM, June 7, 2008.
(AP) Israel and the Palestinians have agreed to start drafting sections of a proposed peace accord that address the main issues of their conflict, the chief Palestinian negotiator said. Ahmed Qureia, the veteran negotiator heading the Palestinian team, said the decision did not mean agreement had been reached on the major issues that have tormented peace talks for years: final borders, the status of disputed Jerusalem and the fate of Palestinian refugees. But it is the first time since negotiations resumed more than six months ago that anything will be put to paper on these divisive questions. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is headed to the region next week in an effort to push negotiations forward. Read More
Israel and Palestinian negotiations for a proposed peace plan have re-started. It's the first activity in six months and for the first time, both sides are committing to drafting something on paper. That's significant. All this talk about peace between Israel and her surrounding nations will come to pass exactly as the Bible has prophesied.
Daniel 9:27 (MSG)
27 " 'Then for one seven, he will forge many and strong alliances, but halfway through the seven he will banish worship and prayers. At the place of worship, a desecrating obscenity will be set up and remain until finally the desecrator himself is decisively destroyed.' "
The Bible is clear. Christians are to be looking for a seven-year peace accord that will be forged and confirmed by the coming Antichrist. To be sure, the details and timing of these events are in God's hands, but we should be watching for the specific signs he has ordained to signify if we are a part of 'that generation' to see the Second Coming of Jesus. Once the seven year covenant is signed and fulfilled, (along with the rebuilding of the Temple and the re-establishment of animal sacrifices), we should realize the final seven year period has begun. These signs are a prelude of harder times to come but this should not cause us to be overly fearful. We who know the Lord will need to help one another remember that God is radically committed to re-uniting with us, and the conclusion to this story is simply out of this world!
Revelation 3:11-12 (NIV)
11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.
